Kim Kardashian, Jonas Brothers kick off White House Correspondents’ festivities

Celebs, journalists and politicos got the party started today at the hot (in every sense of the word) 2010 White House Correspondents Garden Brunch.

One of the first to arrive: Kim Kardashian, guest of Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren. Kim’s spike Louboutin heels were not great for navigating the lawn of the Washington home where the party was held, but they didn’t stop her from posing for photos and signing autographs while mingling in the crowd that included Rupert Murdoch, Arianna Huffington, Andrea Mitchell, David Gregory, Wendy Williams, Sherri Shepherd, Cheryl Hines and the Jonas Brothers.

Who was Kim most looking forward to seeing at tonight’s big White House Correspondents’ Association dinner? “The president and first lady,” she said, explaining that she flew in Friday night and plans to leave on Sunday. In two weeks, she starts filming the fifth season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians and has just finished wrapping her sisters’ spin-off series for E! in Miami.

And what’s up with the boyfriend situation? “Absolutely nothing.”

So maybe she’ll find a nice political guy? “We’ll see about that,” she said, but didn’t sound too enthusiastic.

One of the causes of the party was the Mother’s Day Every Day organization. Guests were asked to write the best advice their mother had given them. What did Kim’s card say? “The favorite thing my mother taught me is … to be myself!”

NBC’s David Gregory wrote: “Always wear socks.” (He was wearing white shorts an loafers with no socks)

Arianna Huffington wrote: “Be fearless.”

Steven Weber’s mom’s advice: “Swallow your spit.”

We didn’t see what the Jonas Brothers wrote. They were swarmed by kids at the party, who often had to identify the famous hearttrobs for their parents. One thing we do know: Demi Lovato held hands with Joe Jonas throughout the party. Sherri Shepherd tweeted that she was “hanging” with the Jonas Brothers, but we saw her doing a Flip cam interview with Marlon Wayans.
