JONAS BROTHERS BETTER OFF LEADING FIELD TRIPS?
Kevin Jonas, the oldest Jonas Brother at 22, is shifting his focus this summer from music for kids to “Field Trips for All,” a campaign run by LunchablesLunchables to set up field trips for schools that have dropped field trips from their programs because of decreased funding.
He said of the campaign, “So many schools are cutting out field trips–an estimated 30,000, and that’s a huge number. For students to get outside the classroom and learn about life beyond their textbooks is so huge.”
The field trips will be offered to 50 classes through an online contest at lunchables.com, where anyone can log on and nominate a classroom and field trip destination by writing why they think the class should win. The nomination process will continue through June 1.
Jonas accompanied a second-grade class to the L.A. Museum of Natural historyMuseum of Natural history last month to initiate the campaign and introduced a few of his favorite exhibits to the kids.
